We are pleased to announce that Fagus is a recommended training provider for Adoption UK’s schools’ membership campaign to make every school attachment aware.
The campaign’s main aim is to provide all school leaders and teachers with knowledge, practical strategies, access to training and a network of support through the schools’ membership programme to ensure they understand the impact of developmental issues.
All Head teachers and designated teachers will soon have a duty to work with virtual schools to support adopted children. This duty is proposed in the Children and Social Work Bill, which is likely to receive royal assent in spring 2017.
The Fagus educational resource fully supports adopted children’s emotional and social development. It is thought that most adopted children have attachment difficulties due to their family background. It was designed for Beech Lodge school, where the majority of children have behavioural challenges associated with developmental trauma and attachment issues. Fagus helps track their social and emotional development and makes a real difference to the way the school, as a whole, understands emotional and social development and in turn helps improve the learning outcomes for all its children.
Adoption UK’s membership programme and Fagus educational resource can demonstrate to Ofsted that you are investing your Pupil Premium Plus funding (extra funding that is offered to schools in England to support looked-after and adopted children) wisely and for the good of all affected pupils.
In partnership with Adoption UK, we are offering a 15% discount off our Fagus Developmental Guides and one year’s free personal activation code to our online Fagus resources when you take out an Adoption UK’s schools’ membership programme. Find out more.
